Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, that is employed to prevent the so-called email spoofing where an email message can be sent from one e-mail address, but to seem as being sent from another, often with the idea to fraud the recipient someway. If SPF protection is activated for a domain, an exclusive record is generated for it in the Domain Name System and all of the DNS servers globally have it. The record includes all mail servers that are permitted to send valid messages from an e-mail address part of the domain. When an e-mail is sent, the first DNS server it goes to verifies the SPF record and if the sending server is authorized, the message is sent to the target destination. If, however, the sending server is not contained in the SPF record for the specified domain, the e-mail message will not be submitted and it'll be removed. If you employ this service, it'll stop third parties from sending spam emails which appear to have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Hosting

SPF protection can be activated for any domain name hosted in a hosting account on our cloud hosting platform with no more than a couple of mouse-clicks. The feature can be found in the Emails section of our exceptional Hepsia Control Panel and what is needed to use it is to select one of your domain names from the drop-down list and then type in the hostnames along with the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the e-mail servers that will be authorized to send messages from your emails. As an added option you can even restrict the emails to be sent from your domain name only when it includes our MX records, i.e. when our servers handle the email addresses for it, not some third-party provider. This option provides you with the top level of security, but it's not applicable in case only your site is on our servers while the emails for the domain are handled elsewhere. Regardless, the SPF protection service will keep your emails risk-free from being used for spam or scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The SPF protection feature is available with all semi-dedicated hosting, so if you host your domain names in an account on our cloud website hosting platform, you'll be able to activate the service effortlessly for any of your domain names. The Hepsia Control Panel, which comes as standard with the semi-dedicated accounts, offers a rather easy to use interface, so you don't need to be proficient in the use of computers to secure your emails. You'll simply need to type the hostname and the IP of each mail server that you'd like to be authorized to send e-mails from your addresses and shortly after that the updated record will be active for the domain that you have chosen. As a further option, we will also give you the ability to limit your outgoing email messages and protect your mailboxes even further by allowing email messages to be sent only if the domain name involved includes our MX records i.e. the email messages for the domain have to be managed on our end and not by another provider. Doing so you will enjoy even better control and there will not be any chances for anyone to fake your emails for malicious purposes.
